Heyy everyone. For today, i'll be doing a review for pitch perfect 2. Its been 3 years since the Barden Bellas became the first all-female group to win a national title. All seems well until a botched Lincoln Center performance for the president leads to a scandal that strips them of their performing duties' causing internal tension and strife. With the world championships on the horizon in Copenhagen, Denmark, the women must get their act together for their one and only shot at redemption. The director for this movie is Elizabeth Banks and the cast is Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Rebel Wilson, Britany Snow and Anna Camp and many more. Its about a group of Acapella where all of them were only use mouth as their instrument and singing. If you guys loves musical type of movie, please do watch this movie. It has few element such as friendship, family and teamwork that might help us to improve and appreciate more what's around us. That's all from me, thank you for reading this post. see ya next time!

Les Miserables 2012

3/20/2016 06:29:00 am 0 Comments A+ a-

20th March 2016- Hey everyone ! Today im gonna review about Les Miserables is an adaptation of the world-famous stage musical, which itself is based on Victor Hugo's classic 1862 novel. Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway star in the gritty, often-heartbreaking tale of justice, duty, love, and revolution. The film deals with abject poverty, prostitution, imprisonment, corruption, war, and death; all of which fans of the musical will be expecting -- but bringing the story to the screen means it has a much more realistic feel (despite the fact that the actors sing virtually all of the dialogue). Characters suffer painful beatings, degrade themselves out of desperation, engage in gun and bayonet fights, claw their way through unspeakable filth, and more. Expect some bawdy lyrics/references (with a sprinkling of curse words, including one "s--t"), a very sad scene in which an unwilling prostitute "entertains" a client, plenty of cleavage, some blood, and a few very sad deaths (including one suicide). But ultimately, Les Miserables is about the redemptive power of love and faith, and there are many moments of hope and beauty amid the miserable ones. From the first scene, Les Miserables is both majestic and brutal, the beauty of the cinematography and the music achingly juxtaposed against the cruelty and savagery of its characters' lives. Expect your emotions to be wrenched this way and that; the actors -- especially Jackman, Hathaway, and Crowe -- have thrown everything on the table, making for a movie you won't easily forget. Director Tom Hooper had the actors sing live as the cameras rolled, and it was a brilliant decision, capturing the rawness of performances that sought to elevate the actors beyond warbling iconic songs in tune. You can feel them living the lyrics, sampling them as if they've never been sung before.
No wonder the film has earned so many accolades; this one's worth the buzz. Crowe's craggy, rock-star voice at times feels at odds with the rest of the cast's style, but his deeply felt Javert persuades. In the end, he seems utterly lost and broken, and we feel for him. At times you wish the camera would pull back a little, or that the score could quiet down a little to let a moment just be -- there's virtue in the plainly staged scene, too -- but there are few of those, thankfully. Les Miserables is a wonder. Enjoy it . XOXO . By Ainatul Mardhiah binti Abu Samah

13 going 30, 2004

19th March 2016he tagline reads “for most people it seems like yesterday, for Jenna Rink it was.” And although the plot of this film seems to be aimed more towards the younger crowd, there are MANY parts of this movie that can take us “older” ones back, just like it did for Jenna.
The movie opens in 1987. It’s Jenna’s 13th birthday, and it’s clear from the beginning that Jenna is stuck in the ever-present battle most of us have faced, the battle of fitting in with the “cool kids.” The things that seem to consistently stand in her way are her less than cool appearance (by her peer’s standards), her somewhat “geeky,” socially unaccepted best friend and neighbor Matt Flamhaff, and her parents who she is clearly embarrassed by. All of Jenna’s hopes seem to be riding on her non-parentally supervised birthday party that the cool girls (as well as the hot guys) all agreed to come to.
You clearly see Jenna struggle to be accepted, and finally choose mean-spirited popularity and acceptance over her best friend. Young kids, primarily girls, watching this movie will be able to relate at this point. To really “connect” with the place that this character is at.
The party turns for the worst and Jenna is left feeling broken, crying in a closet, just wishing that this would end—that she could just grow up, be 30, flirty, successful, and voilà! She (Jennifer Garner) awakens the next morning as a beautiful, successful 30 year old who seems to have it all.
Throughout the story Jenna sees that her life at 30 is nothing like she thought it would be. It does not take long for Jenna to seek out her best friend Matt (Mark Ruffalo) who she soon finds out is no longer a friend at all; they had in fact parted ways after her 13th birthday party. Jenna continues to create ways to see him and soon realizes that her heart wanted to choose him all along; however, it seems too late as she learns that Matt is 2 weeks away from his wedding—to a girl you want to hate (because you like Jenna), but can’t help but like.
Written by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, (“What Women Want”) and produced by Susan Arnold and Donna Arkoff Roth (“Forces of Nature,” “America’s Sweethearts,” and “Benny and Joon”), this movie is a triumphant story of redemption, true class (and not the “5th Avenue” kind of class), and yes, in true “chick flick” fashion, it is last but not least, a story about love. There is much to laugh at, grow teary-eyed at, and especially dance and sing along with, as it has a fabulous soundtrack straight out of the 80’s!
As I have already mentioned, this movie appears to be aimed more for the middle school to high school crowd. Although overall, this movie remains relatively innocent, I would caution parents to really know your teens before allowing them to see it. There is content that would need to be viewed by a more emotionally mature teen. For example, from the beginning, her boyfriend (it is obvious that a physical relationship existed between him and Jenna prior to the timeline of this film) calls her “sweet bottom” and seems to be completely sex obsessed with her. Every time he sees her, calls her, etc., it seems to be all he can think/talk about.
The 30 year old Jenna works for a fashion magazine. During a meeting about cover stories, there are many ideas “tossed out there” that involve sexual dialog ranging from butts, to breasts to orgasms—though in defense of the film I took this as joking (“poking fun”) at the fashion magazines that run stories like that.
It is made clear at one point in the film that Jenna had been having an affair with a co-workers husband. Jenna is also a “partier/heavy drinker” and is not at all monogamous to her boy friend.
The Lord’s name is taken in vain several times and there is some profanity. It is not rampant throughout the film, and I think that is why when it does appear, it seems louder and more harsh.
There is no nudity in this movie, though there is a scene where Jenna’s boyfriend attempts to do a strip tease for her, but it only shows him down to his underwear. There is also a scene where he is walking around in a towel and drops it just as an umbrella pops up to block his genitals.
I loved this movie! It was fun, entertaining and left me with a great feeling. More so though, it reminded me of a time when I also wished to be an adult so that I could be done with the dramas of adolescence. Life was supposed to be better then, wasn’t it? Throughout this story, Jenna begins to see how heartless, selfish and even vindictive she had grown to be, and she does not want to be that person. “13 Going on 30” is a beautiful story of forgiveness, second chances, accepting others for who they are and making the best out of wherever we are in life.
If you feel your teen can handle the objectionable content in this film, then I encourage it, because it has lessons and realities that today’s youth need to learn. By Ainatul Mardhiah binti Abu Samah, XOXO.

Istanbul Aku Datang 2012

19th March 2016 - Assalamualaikum everyone, today i'm gonna review about Istanbul Aku Datang Produced by a joint-venture of Grand Brilliance & Red Films, it was the same team that brought “Gol & Gincu” to live.I love “Gol & Gincu” because it was the first honest urban movie depicting the raw life of teenagers in the era. The dialogues were natural (and the pioneer of the “jumbling-up-between-Malay-and-English” dialogue which are abundant in Malay dramas NOW) and the evolution of the characters were heart-whelming. Now, what about “Istanbul, Aku Datang”? . The story basically is about a young lady named Dian who flew all the way from Malaysia to Istanbul, Turkey just to convince her boyfriend, Azad who was studying medical there into marrying her. When she arrived there, she was initially excited with the prospect of living with the boyfriend but was forced to find a new residence as it wasn’t a Malay customary for unmarried couple to be seen living together. Now, just as she thought she already secured a house of her own in Istanbul, she just learned that she was duped! There was another person renting the same house; a GUY named Harris from Malaysia as well! Conflicts and comedies  arose when two different characters fueled with prejudices collided! Lisa Surihani was doing alright as Dian, the ala bimbo lady (more like a brunette bimbo) who does anything to get her man but she was not convincing enough as a bimbo because Lisa Surihani is known for being an intelligent person. I don’t know; I just don’t feel she is convincing as a bimbo. Beto Khusyairi as Harris is cool; his comic timing and chemistry with Lisa Surihani was somewhat adorable and “sparks-fly”; since this is Beto’s first romantic foray (I am not sure because not really an ardent Malay drama), I think he did OK. Tomok was doing fine as the boyfriend, Azad but quite static and statue-esque. Aizat as an actor? Nay, sorry. I love him as a singer but perhaps he was nervous or what; but he ain’t an actor material in that flick. So, what’s the magic of “Istanbul, Aku Datang” if the casts aren’t marvelous? I would say THE SCRIPT and THE CINEMATOGRAPHY! Rafidah Abdullah certainly had that magical touch and Bernard Chauly directed beautifully; I love the advertisement-quality of the shots and the sequences were shot artistically. And which scenes really steal my heart? I would say the part where Dian & Harris spent time with a Turkish family having picnic and rode motorbike around Istanbul! That’s for me is the epitome of the raw Istanbul and romantically-emanating. I know it’s quite late to rate; but I give 3.5 stars outta 5; and in this war, “Gol & Gincu” favours over “Istanbul, Aku Datang.” Enjoy the movies by Ainatul Mardhiah binti Abu Samah. XOXO

Thursday, 17th March 2016- Hello guyssss. Today i'll be making review for the most authentic and romantic movie and it is called THE VOW. Why did I say this is the most romantic movie ever? because it is based on the true story. The release date for this movie is on February 10, 2012. The director of this movie is Michael Sucsy and the story is from Stuart Sender. Can you guys imagine how it felt to loss a memories about your sweet and joyful life? Memories is such a unique, personal and indescribable thing but it also works marvelously onscreen, memories can tell stories more powerfully onscreen than most straightforward narratives and in more evocative cinematic ways. So what is THE VOW is all about?  Its about Paige (Rachel McAdams) and Leo (Channing Tatum) are happily married newlyweds, but their idyllic life together suddenly shatters when a car accident leaves her in a coma. When Paige awakes, she has severe memory loss and doesn't know Leo. She also has a confusing relationship with her parents (Sam Neill, Jessica Lange) and still harbors feelings for a former fiance (Scott Speedman). Despite these difficult obstacles, Leo is determined to renew their bond and rebuild their marriage.

So since this movie is quite complicated and difference, I suggest all of you to watch this because you guys will experience and appreciate people's around you more than before. It will open your eyes widely and do not easily give up on anything that you do toward someone that you love. That's all from me. Till we meet again on the next post. Thank you for reading this and hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did.

KIL (2013)

3/17/2016 07:32:00 am 0 Comments A+ a-

Khamis, 17 Mac 2016 -Hello pembaca Polo Kelab!

Terima kasih.

THE NOTEBOOK (2004)

3/17/2016 06:30:00 am 0 Comments A+ a-

Thursday, 17th March 2016 -HELLO EVERYONE AND GOOD MORNING! This morning i'll be making a review for the NOTEBOOK. It is one of the romantic movie before the Vow. So let's get started. First of all, I went to watch this movie with the misconception where this movie is just like another typical and cliches romantic kind of movie just like the others. But I was wrong and I turned out to be liking this movie more than anything else. Because  I was very impressed by this film and the themes portrayed in this movie were handled in a great way. This movie will lead you to the feeling of happiness and joyful and trust me the scenery is just so brilliant. It will make you will feel like you are part of the characters and you will passionate to care about them throughout the whole movie.

The movie starts in a nursing home with an old man reading to an older woman, whose her memory is slipping away from her every single day. The old man is also known as Duke. Everyday Duke will read the story of two lovers who meet in the south at a carnival. He will starts his reading with introducing a girl named Allie. Allie was 17. A city girl from a very rich family, and Noah was just a country boy who deeply madly in love with Allie. Two of them spend the whole summer together but Allie is forced to move and go to college although she was willing to give it up for Noah. Noah writes Allie 365 letters and she never gets them. So he restores the house him and Allie went to one night out of 'labor of love'. Seven years pass and Allie meets and falls in love with a wealthy soldier Lon. When seeing Noah's picture in the paper, Allie is drawn back to him. They spent a few days together and she doesn't want to leave. Allie has to choose between her fiancé and Noah. The movie gallops in speed as we are absorbed into the great plot and brilliant acting of all the cast involved. Ryan Gosling is brilliant as the shy and quiet Noah, and Rachael McAdams is superbly beautiful as the star of the movie, Allie.

The best thing about this movie was the depth of the plot and the actors playing their characters so well that it didn't make you feel bored and sleepy. Another plus point for this movie is their script because they have put a lot of good quotes through it, and you did not see too many "cliches" which is always a good sign in a Romance movie. By the way, it doesn't matter if you love or hate romantic movies, but let me you this, this is NOT just a romantic movie it is more than that. By the end of the movie you will feel a whole heap of emotions. You will be talking about this movie to everyone for a long time. It just the only bad part for this movie is the length which I think they could just shortened it a bit but on the whole this was a superb and fantastic movie and it worth to watched.

That's all from me, thank you for reading this post and do leave a comment down below if you have anything to ask :)
